Thank you for visiting my page. I am Soumy Majumdar from Kolkata, India (currently residing in Toronto, Canada), and this is a humble space I have created out of my love for story-telling. I am no writer; But I am also gripped by the constant fear that my stories might die an unnatural death if they are not told or re-told. I strongly feel that stories are born the moment you decide to undertake on a journey. It is not always necessary to splurge to travel to some exotic locales in order to tell a wonderful tale. I do not have a bucket list of destinations pinned in my wall nor do I intend to be on the road all the time. I am an IT consultant by profession and I do not intend to give up my job. I have a loving family back at home with whom I would want to spend quality time. As much as I want to meet new people during my journey and befriend them, I would also want to frequent with my old friends and catch up on all that I have missed out. I believe we are all travelers in our own right embarking in a beautiful journey called life. Then what are stories made of? They are made of the moments where you choose to pause and reflect, to love, to celebrate, to share.
When we wander, apparently, we wear (or erode) the soles of our shoes which bites the dust. We tend to seek other states, other lives, other souls and care little for what we possess. To me it is more important to wear (sport) our own individual souls, which would be enriched by the time our journeys near the final destination.
My stories comprise not only of my travels to popular destinations, which is a small subset of the overall journey in my life, but also of those moments where I felt that Time should stand still so that I could live in it forever. I am eagerly waiting to listen to your stories as well and switch roles by making this space available to all the readers.
So come one, come all, and share your Wanderlust, for life is much more than thrilling escapades!
